I know that the Alder Barbor refer setup in the C-3X's are challanged at best. Question mine doen't get cool . the one line has a guage on it that reads 35 lbs at idle (not running) after about 3 minutes it drops to 8 pounds vacum (-8) and stays there - the coils in the refer box don't seem to get even cool. Any ideas where to star looking. I assume no leaks sine the pressure returns back to 35 after shutting it off. I have check the manual and all it says is if the presure goes negative call a repair service technician. I'm just trying to save some boat units. The Compressor is a 12V DC Aldre Barbor Model DCM-12.  1989 C-36 - thanks

Yes the fan is working and I can feel/hear the compressor running.

Frank, scroll down on the board, I just recently updated a post on Adler Barbour refrigeration (http://c34.org/bbs/index.php?topic=656.0)  It includes ideas and a phone # for A/B in MA.

I understand the idea to save boat bucks, so a call to Mass. isn't very expensive.  They also gave me a name for a local fridge tech who is very good (here in the SF Bay area).  Don't know where you are, but Gary at A/B will help you out.
