Water From Knot Meter Fitting Under Vee Berth Going into Main Cabin

Yesterday while sailing back from Salem, MA I noticed salt water pooling around the port side of the main cabin sole by the hanging locker (starboard tack).  I had recently cleaned the knot meter paddle wheel and (and gotten rid of all the water) and the nut at the top of the fitting was not tight.  I think the water is getting under the floor boards via the hanging locker in the vee berth.  Have not seen this on a port tack.

My question is that on the MK IIs is there a way to set up a drain to go from the vee berth into the bilge?

Any help would be appreciated.

On my MKII it does drain from V-berth to bilge, but it looks as though only when the boat is upright. There is a small hose that  leads from the collection area back to the bilge. That is how the condensate from AC drains to the bilge, as well as any leaks from the forward water tank. Maybe your hose is blocked? Or maybe sailing heeled for an extended period prevents that drain hole from being used?

I just opened a limber hole at the base of the bulkhead supporting the forward bunk. The tabbing of this bulkhead on my MKII had been done without creating this hole. with the result that any water from the forward fresh watertank or thru-hull fittings was trapped.

First I drilled a 4" hole in the sole under the small rectangular lift up section of flooring just forward of the bulkhead separating the main salon from the forward berth area. I then established that the limber hole at the base of that bulkhead was in place and open by shining a light from the bilge area just forward of the mast. I also ran a long screw driver aft through the hole from the new forward bilge area that I had just accessed. Now comfortable that water from under the forward bunk would run all the way to the central bilge area, I carefully drilled a 3/8" hole at the base of the tabbing on the forward bulkhead, smoothed out the hole with a file and sand paper and tested it. Water now runs easily from the forward compartment all the way to the bilge pump.
