Finally got away from the dock this weekend   New rigging is great, much less weather helm than last year.  Last thing we did before going out was a quick pull to power wash the hull and change zinc's, I'm on an every other year paint schedule.  Wind was blowing 25-30 so we ended up motoring upwind to our destination.  Knot meter worked as expected showing appropriate speeds.  Coming home on a down wind run, it responded normally 2/3 of the way then went nuts, showing 10-13 knots for about 10 minutes before returning to normal.  Visually boat speed looked to remain the same.  I can't explain it.  Any ideas?  It is the original Standard Horizon knot meter.
