February Fleet Update
« on: February 28, 2007, 11:40:37 AM »

2007 Annual Dues:

If you have already sent your $25.00 check to Cory for the 2007 Fleet dues, we thank you.  If you have not sent your check to Cory, we would appreciate receiving it before April 1, 2007.

Failing that your case will be turned over to Bill Eddy for more personal attention.

Cruise Plans:

1. Monterey Adventure

We are fast approaching the point where we need to know your plans - so we can make slip booking at each port of call.  Before March 23, 2007, could you confirm you plans to come or not.

To allow you to do some planning, the detailed schedule is:

4/22      Travel to Half Moon Bay      Sunday
         Over Night in HMB
4/23      Travel to Santa Cruz      Monday
         Over Night in Santa Cruz
4/24      Travel to Monterey         Tuesday
         Over Night is Monterey
4/25      Rest Day (in Monterey)      Wednesday
         Over Night is Monterey
4/26      Travel to Santa Cruz      Thursday
         Over Night in Santa Cruz
4/27      Travel to Half Moon Bay      Friday
         Over Night in HMB
4/28      Travel home            Saturday

Option #1

Bring your own boat for the complete 7-day trip

Bring your own boat for one or more of the legs.

Option #2

Crew with others on one or more of the legs.  We will attempt to find slots on a first come first served basis.

If you have any questions, be free to ask them.

2. Cruise-in to Ballena Bay Yacht Club

We have a reservation with Ballena Bay Yacht for a Cruise-in with them on June 15,16,17, 2007.  More details when the time gets closer.

3. Cruise-in to Richmond Yacht Club

We are working to set up a cruise-in and BBQ at Richmond Yacht Club in August, 2007.  Once the dates have been confirmed, we will post them on the website.

4. Rendezvous - 2007

The rendezvous for 2007 will be held at Angel Island (all being well with the mooring field) on the weekend on October 13/14.

GGYC winter Series

The last race of the series will be held on March 3, 2007. The series winner will not be decided until that race is over.  It has been a very interested series with light winds and strong current for each race making tactical decisions extremely critical.

Rite-of-Spring - double handed - March 17, 2007

Fleet 1 has raced in this race for the last two years with our own one-design start.   Entry forms can be found on the OYC website:

If you plan to entry, please email Chris Owen ( ) as he is keeping count of the C34.

Inter Club Series

The first race in this series is on April 14, 2007 in the Main Bay.  This year the format is 2 races (1st and 3rd ) in the main bay and 4 races in the South Bay - less wind and tricky currents in the South Bay.  The complete schedule can be found at:

If you have any questions, just ask.  If you are interested in crewing to get a feel of what C34 racing is all about, let us know and we will do our best to finds you a slot.

San Francisco Cup

This three race Catalina regatta will be held once again at Golden Gate Yacht Club on the weekend of September 22/23, 2007

Crew Wanted:

As you may have heard, Stan O'Hoppe is taking his Catalina 34 south in June this year. He is looking for crew for the return trip leaving LA around July 27.  If you are interested in being part of his adventure, email Stan at: and get the details.
