I was performing fiberglass repair on the bottom of my boat and found a few blisters.  When I opened one of the blisters I found what appears to be body filler (Bondo).  This blister is about an inch above the prop strut.  Does anyone know a reason for there to be body filler in this location?

Steve : It almost sounds like a PO used "Bondo" to fix some previous blisters rather than an epoxy filler!  That's my guess.  :?:

That was my thought.  I just wanted to make sure before I ground it all out.  There appears to be quite a bit there.  I just don't like bobdo on a boat.

You may want to cut the PO some slack.  The untra light filler used in epoxy haas that same red/brown color as bondo.  It is used to fair out epoxy repairs.  The factory may have used it.  It isn't water proof and without a barier it would form a blister.
