Is this a dangerous thru-hull fitting/valve combo, or is this normal? MARELON

EASY:
When on the hard, I jam a metal throwaway acid brush onto a piece of scrap threaded rod. Dab Marelube grease onto the brush and reach up through the thru-hull from below and smear it all around. Then I go inside the boat and work the valve open and closed. I have also had my diver do this while in the water too. The grease stays usable on the brush even when submerged.

Guys : I wrote about Noah's EASY in the Mainsheet Tech note Tips!!  I do that every spring.  After I do it from the underside then go back into the boat, disconnect the hose and do it again only this time from the inside.

I found that if you have a hard turning Marelon valve - disconnect it in the fall (while the boat is on the hard) and take it back home or replace it with an easy working valve.  I placed the hard turning valve on my workbench, greased (water resistant grease) both sides and every time I passed my workbench I'd work it a couple of times.  By spring I had an easy turning valve!!
