Thought I would be real smart and safe and bouight a CO Alarm (Kidde)from local hardware store.

Set it out in my boat main cabin and it started an alarm immediately.  Set it outside and it was OK  Back into the boat and alarm goes off.  Nothing on the boat is on.  Engine off, stove off, solenoid for gas off, etc.

Took it home and all OK.

Anyone have this kind of experience?

I have one Kidde CO Alarm and one Kidde CO/Smoke Combination Alarm on my boat. Neither has gone off except for the low battery alarm. Changed the battery and all is OK again.

Does anyone know the differance between a marine rated alarm and one rated for home use? Is there a practacal differance?
