Just finished the surveys on Calypso, the C34 that Kate and I are buying. The only significant problem was leaking at the nipple where the exhaust gases enter the exhaust elbow. Is this unusual on an M35 with 625 hours? The engine guy is going to cut off the offending section and replace it for what seems a reasonable amount (about $160).

Don't lnow if that's unusual but I've had a leak where the exhaust enters the water lift and I have less that 100 hours.  Tightening the hose c :rolleyes:lamps doesn't do any good.  Been putting off my repairing because of the difficult work space problem.  'sides it only leaks when I motor and it's a "sail" boat.

Exhaust Riser

625 hours ouldn't be unusual for nipple problems.  Get it all fixed now.  See:

(FIND on exhaust riser).

sail4:  see the references link for connections to the muffler also.  You need to remove the hose and check the condition of the aqualift muffler's hose connection.  Try a find on Hump Hose.
