@Keel is she overheating because she is losing coolant? 
ie, is the coolant level down when you check it after an overheat? 

Does the overflow reservoir hold its level or does it keep dropping and need to be refilled?

Hi KW, thanks for the steers. That narrows it down a lot. Principal suspects now are the raw water pump, the HX and the water injection nipple.

She's definitely not losing coolant.

OK not losing coolant rules out a pinhole between the two sides of the HX.
