Deadlight replacement jig to install w/o screws

I've got a new set of deadlights from the Catalina parts department.  Presently, my 91 has screws fixing the deadlights and I plan to use adhesive only when I install the new ones.  Based on my research, a jig will be necessary to apply clamping pressure to the deadlight as the glue cures. Has anyone else built these jigs or done something different to avoid the screws?

I see that this was recently discussed here:

The 3m VHB tape is something I am familiar with and appreciate it's quality.  From anyone that has used this method, how did you resolve the section of the deadlight (aft port and starboard) that does not daylight to the cabin?  Did you use VHB on this whole section of cabin side or apply silicon (dow) to this section and let it squeeze out?  Also, how did you apply clamping force till the tape and the dow cured enough to hold the deadlight?

Thanks all.

Alex - you have seen these from the wiki site?

I got that one construction diagram from Catalina Yachts parts department just this afternoon.  They seem to think the 3m VHB tape is NOT the way to go.  They also indicated it is best to mount the "standoff" foam tape to the gelcoat.  They said that the adhesive on the tape reacts with the window platic and makes it craze after a period of time.
