Does anyone know how the hull is built?  Assuming there is a core.  What material?  How many layers of glass?  Mine is a 34 Mk II - hull 1494 built in 2000.

Thanks in advance.

Goeff,

Don't know how many layers of glass.  I've drilled a couple of holes in Shamrock to install AC.  One for water intake about 9 inches from center about 18 inches in front of the keel and one a couple of inches above the boot stripe.  Intake hole was about 1 inch thick at the boot stripe about 3/4 inch thick.  Material is fiberglass with polyester resin I believe.  Ron's contact would give you exact info.

Assuming there is a core in the deck, correct?

By the way Geoff, my club owns hull #1471.

Try this, I can't remember where I found it but it tells the tale of where the core is and where the reinforcement plates are.
