I had a wonderful sail Thursday before taking Donnybrook to the yard Friday.  The day started flat calm and wind increased to 15 knots.  Friday had gusts to 32 knots out of the south, the direction to the yard, but waves weren't bad.  I motor sailed most of the way.

I made a video to get me through the winter I thought I'd share:  https://youtu.be/GjKnNODMmBo

It makes me look forward to spring so much more when the season ends on a high note!

Thanks for sharing. Same boat as mine so I was right there with you.  Nice setup too. Bet you wish you'd had the dodger up!

It's those kind of days that keep us coming back down to the water. It looks like you singled the boat that day. I love being out on the water by myself for several hours with the wind as your only companion.

Yes, I was single handing.  I've done more this year than any other year and I enjoy it.  A side effect of covid is more single-handed sailing because of more unused vacation time and some of my sailing friends needing to stay isolated.  My new autopilot (EV-100 wheel pilot) really helps.

I noticed your wheel pilot makes long wheel turns under sail.  Do you have the wind instrument integrated with the pilot?  Mine usually makes very short repetitive adjustments.

Kyle Ewing

Yes, it's integrated with wind and I have a rudder position sensor.  At one point the wheel pilot was pretty busy sailing downwind with maybe 2--3 foot waves.  Overall it's a huge improvement over the ST4000 It replaced.

Kyle,
Nice video :thumb:  I've got a couple taken with my phone.  Not as well done.   I do enjoy watching them offseason and showing them to my friends.  Sailing is a sport, past-time, that there is so many ways to enjoy.
