Opening Port Screen, Lewmar 7-1/2" x 14-7/16
New to us 1993 C34 is a "Good Old Boat", but there is one thing that really "bugs" me...
I have searched and looked and noticed the port bug screens is an ongoing topic, but can't find anything like what I am experiencing... So I must ask.
I bought two of the nice new black lewmar portlight screens, in high hopes they would fit better than the old screens that came with the boat... Well, they do stay in much better, seem good quality, hold their shape, BUT do not seal well in places. Wasps can come right in, and there's NO stopping mosquitoes. Any suggestions other than stuffing old black panty hose in the cracks, and maybe stitching said material to the fabric gasket around the screen? Surely I'm not the only one with this problem. We sail on an inland lake (Missouri) and do like to anchor out, so need the fresh air. Thank you to anyone who can shed light on this. :)
