As I noted above, the Oberdorfer is easily serviced from the front with four screws.  Seems the Speed Seal cover could well have been created by someone who was simply tired of servicing a Sherwood pump!   :cry4`

Guys : I might be missing something on this "Speed seal", but I've replaced the cover plate on both the Oberdofer and the Sherwood pumps.  Think it only took me about one minute to do either ?????????????
Just remember to coat the bolt threads with Lanacoat, grease or Vaseline.   :!:

I guess the one great distinguishing feature of the speed seal cover is that you do not need tools to release it... just turn the knurled knobs on the screws and slide it off. :D
