While getting ready to put the dinghy and outboard back on the boat I thought of an easy way to flush the outboard while on the stern rail.
After hoisting the outboard up and securing it to the Stern rail mount, I then took a plastic 5 gal bucket and clipped it to the hoist and rigged it under and around the lower unit of the outboard, filled the bucket with water and started the motor to let it run for a few minutes. If you have an external tank, this is a good chance to let the engine run out of gas with the hose disconnected. Make sure you keep the water hose available to keep the bucket full.
