Andre--Here is the Catalina smile (in my case, a half smile), due to improper blocking from a marina. The pic is after I found the crack and ground down with a Dremel tool to fiberglass the repair.

My pump would come on at 5-10 minute intervals too...until all of a sudden it just came on and stayed on (started draining my water tank to the bilge). I have a round filter under the sink (well, under the self under the sink), which clogged and then separated. Removed, cleaned, and reassembled it, problem gone.

I would see if someone could repair your "hole" (some sort of welding...think it is aluminum). Then recharge the system. Worth a try.

I had the same problem on my 1998 (post is here: http://c34.org/bbs/index.php/topic,6634.msg43583.html#msg43583). I noted the factory had little or no sealant around the port, so I put a lot of sealant on...used a plastic wedge to smooth it out from the outside edge to the inside edge...no leaks after a couple of years. See my "warning" message in the above post. Given what I know now, would have gone wity Buytal tape instead of sealant.

Sounds like you may need to fill with epoxy and redrill with the new hole pattern. Good luck matching things up.

Most likely, you have an air lock...need to get all air out of the system.

Tough decision...but apparently the right one for you now. Good luck. Hope your boat finds another who will see her as you do.

Cory--I recommend extreme caution in installing that new tank on your boat. Perhaps you need a test boat, like, well, mine.  :D Nice tank.  :clap

When I ordered my replacement fuel filter bracket (yes...I had the knife cut and it was cracked), Westerbeke sent me the water pump sleeve as well...When I pulled the water pump, found my motor did not have the sleeve...that is good service and saved me lots of bucks down the road.

OK...Maybe I missed a thread somewhere...but why not move the holding tank to the vast area under the head sink? In my 1998, there is a ton of unused space there. Could put a large holding tank there, shorten the distance the waste has to go from head to tank, etc. Then, you get storage space back under the port settee...one would have to reroute the macerator...at least on my boat. But would get a much larger holding tank and get storage space back. Maybe there would be a "listing" issue...but that would probably be a lot of crap...so to speak.  :D

Similar to Ron, I put two 12vlt cigarette connections in the vberth...mainly to run two 12vlt fans... but can be used for other things.
