Paul,

I've been trying to decide how to run a new holding tank vent line on my 1990, have you decided how to install yours?  Any advice is welcome.

Thanks,

Rick

Mike,

Actually it's not my boat.  Just a website for another C34 owner.  I'm not sure I like the look but figured I'd share the link.

Cheers,

Rick

My response from Catalina Yachts asking about the need for firring strips:

We screwed the ash battens right into the hull liner which runs about 1/4" to 3/8" thick.  If you are concerned you can add the firring strips, but we never found them to be necessary.

Damn glad you posted this.  I had just written Kent at Catalina about how I could do this.  Where did you source the battens?

So will you be making these available for the rest of us????

Ken, you know what they say, "a clean motor is a happy motor".  OK, they don't say that, but it does look nicer.

Main Message Board / Heater Project - Propane Line
December 08, 2011, 07:32:09 PM
I've added a Dickenson P9000 heater to the port side salon bulkhead and I added the new propane tank to the stern rail (with a new solenoid valve and regulator.  Now it's finally time that I ran the new propane line.  Has anyone mounted a heater in a similar location and/or run a new fuel line to a heater?  Kent at Catalina made a suggestion of "running the line aft along the port side behind the head and below the fuel tank", but I thought I would see if anyone had any experience in this area?

Thanks,

Rick

My solution, although I have since added two pieces of aluminum bar stock to keep the shackle from angling up.

I thought this was an interesting write-up on a thru-hull project.

I thought about it, but decided it was just too much weight.  Same reason I gave up on the granite counter tops.  Have you thought about Corian?

I've been happy with this product.  Only bought 1 so far (to replace a damaged lens) but they were cheaper than my local plastic shop and fit perfectly.  I plan on buying 5 more and replacing them all.
