Thanks guys

While browsing around the consignment shop, I found  Schaefer cleats for $50; I think defender wants $75 for  them.

I contacted Catalina and they indicated the oem fixtures I have in my 1992 are no longer available.

So if anyone has found a reasonable replacement for these let me know.

I 'd like something that provides both general illumination plus can be adjusted as reading lamps.

Thanks

The plastic shades on the light fixtures in our aft cabin and vee berth are discolored and/or cracked and look frankly awful

Are replacement shades available ?

Alternatively, are there 'reasonably' priced alternatives to these fixtures?

Does the Delta valve have the metric thread? I got confused in your posting and thought the leak you had might have been due to the threads not matching the Grohe shower head

Thanks

I want to buy a couple of cleats for the genoa track.  What size track does the 1992 C34 have?

Thanks

Main Message Board / cockpit shower head

While on the topic of plumbing, I also need a replacement shower head for the cockpit shower.

Anyone have a source and part number for that?

Thanks

Where did you purchase the Grohe # 28 035 000 shut off?  From a plumbing supply?

On our new C34, I noticed the head pullout shower wand does not have any shutoff. On our C30, the shower wand had a shutoff so that after you wet down with the water adjusted to the right temperature, you could halt the flow while soaping up, then turn it on again when ready to rinse, without having to fuss with the hot/cold mix.

Is such a shower wand shut off available for the Grohe faucet in the C34?

A web search for it turned up nothing.

Thanks

Main Message Board / heater controls

Bob

How is the fan controlled? do you have a thermostat wired in to it?

Is there some way to valve off the hot water flowing through the heater in the hot summer or does it not through any heat unless the blower is on?

Thanks

Main Message Board / Helm seat
January 06, 2005, 05:37:45 PM
What do you use for a helm seat on the open transom models?  When seated at the wheel of my new 1992, I will need a boost of a good 4-6 inches to see through the dodger.

Is this something available through Catalina Direct?

Thanks

Main Message Board / Winter cover with mast down
December 29, 2004, 01:05:40 PM
We will be taking delivery of our 1992 C34 next week and it will be stored up here in MA this winter with the mast down. Future winters, it will be store mast up and I will plan to shrink wrap her.

For this winter with the mast down, I would like to cover her with a tarp of something primarily to protect the nice bright work which was recently re-done.

When I owned a C30, I constructed a cover frame out of PVC piping, with the uprights clamped to the stanchions.

Is this an appropriate way to build a cover support frame on the C34? Does anyone have any cover support plans they can point me to?

Thanks in advance

Main Message Board / Cracking in bilge
September 18, 2004, 10:52:18 AM
We're looking to buy a C34 and looked at one today that was generally in good shape equipped well and in the right price range.  It is a 1987 fin keel.

However, one issue has us concerned; in the bilge, where there are beams going athwartships, there were cracks in the fiberglass where each beam was connected to the hull. It looked to me perhaps to be the result of a hard grounding.

Has anyone else seen this, any idea what it might take to fix it?  should we just keep shopping?

I have some pictures of the cracks but dont know how I can post them in this forum

Thanks
