I had one (with the radar tower on my E32-200 and am installing just the hoist on my MKII.

I think Jim's (Shamrock) has the hole drilled through the starboard seat on the push pit. That is how I'm installing mine too.

I've always had full battens. I'm not a fan of the Dutchman my boat came with and am considering doing away with it.

Buying new sails. 

My loft always recommends our mainsail be fully battened. I've seen others that go standard with partial battens.

I'm wondering, Did C34's come with full or partial battens?

Thank you for the info. I've sailed worldwide with my iridium satphone but think Starlink will be a better option.

We are planning some extended cruising this winter and are considering adding Starlink for work (emails and voip calls).

Does anyone here have it and can you share your experience as far as installation, cost, etc.

Question, do the foam spacers stay after you apply the caulk?

Alex, I bought Yotache foam weather stripping tape from Amazon. It's 1/2" wide and 1/8" thick and quite dense.  It's self adhesive on one side and it's black so it blends into the sealant.  I cut 3/8" wide pieces and went at it. The basic premise is to allow the sealant a thick enough bed and prevent inward pressure on the acrylic from squishing the sealant completely out.  Remember, the boats aren't made with great precision, so if the portlight material is a bit oversize and the recess a bit undersize the integrity of the seal depends on sealant bed thickness. Don't stress over this job, I did, and it's easier than you are picturing. Bracing and masking/protection are the critical points.  You have approx 15mins to work once the acrylic is positioned in the sealant.

Boy were we lucky!

Helene delivered an 8' storm surge to our slip in New Port Richey and Breathing Room survived thanks to heavy prep two days prior (fender boards, loose lines, tide minders, doubled lines).

The yacht club did not fair as well with four feet of water ruining everything as did the surrounding neighborhood. Sad.

Milton hit at low tide 50 miles south and sucked the water down at low tide. High winds and lots of rain.

45 days till this hurricane season ends.

What a great report! When my wife and I cruised from Vancouver to Alaska of a cruise two years ago, I told her these look like excellent cruising grounds. Lots of secluded anchorages too.

On the MKII there is a small breaker on the instrument panel at the helm. It was tripped when I put the new ignition switch in (must have touched a coupe wires).


All the gauges are back to normal with the exception of the fuel gauge which I've determined is bad. Are there other sources beside CD to order one?

What engine?  Such things are many times more  determined by the installed engine than the boat mk/yeare.

You can put the engine info in your signature, and has any harness upgrading Bern done?

Some engines/boats/panels had protection at the panel, some at the engine, some none at all. 

Sorry, it's an M35B.

Today I replaced my keyed ignition switch and tested the install while I had the instrument panel off. Everything worked (all gauges). Turned off engine (M35B) and put the panel back in place.

Restarted the engine afterwards and now I have no gauges working....

I pulled the panel back off to look for a broken or loose wire and can't find anything loose....

Any thoughts?

Is there a fuse or breaker somewhere on the MKII for the gauges?

Is there a fuse at the helm on the panel?

Engine starts fine.
