I would not worry about any deformation under load just look how many ball bearings are bearing (intended) the load,  the number / surface is quite large.

GHm blocks have  10y  warranty

Only time I deviated from generally great GHm hardware was when looking for ratcheting  furling block (Garhauer does not make one ) and rope clutches.

I really like this idea and already placed the order.
Susan can you post few more pictures showing corner near the sink and most importantly back side of your grate?
Did you keep rubber feet that grate came with ?
Thank you,

Raymarine has decent guide on the web. I would stress requirement of constant, clean and reliable power when running upgrade ! ( No engine starting , fridge off etc.  )

My depth did something similar - these are steps that made my problem go away:
1) Firmware update on iTC-5
2) Resitting all small blade connectors from the transducer
How about your depth is it also connected via   iTC and working when speed is out ?

How is your speed transducer connected to the network?

That type of jammer has superior holding power when compared to cam block and it looks "cleaner" too  8)
For me downside of that solution was that either variant of a jammer block (spring-loaded or not) still requires foot and hand or both hands to operate in controlled fashion .
