Is this engine still available?  If so, will you take $800.00 cash for it?
I will be driving from Phoenix to New Orleans in the middle of March.  I could pick it up along my way.
Thank you for your time.
Kind Regards,

Main Message Board / Re: Can't restart a warm engine

Hi All,
Thank you for the responses.  As soon as I get back to my boat the two things that stand out as the problem is the inline fuse and the possibility of a sticky solenoid.  What ever it is, it's heat sensitive.  My batteries are good and the cables are new.
Thanks again.

Main Message Board / Can't restart a warm engine
August 19, 2021, 02:40:51 PM
Hi All,
Has anyone had the same experience that I am currently having?  I have a 1989 34 of course, with a Universal M-25 XP.  After I have used the engine and it gets up to operating temperature it won't restart until it cools off.  When I push the starter button when the engine is warm all get is a buzzer sounding off behind the instrument panel.  The starter motor does not engage.
I have gone through the manuals and can't find any help there.
If anyone has any thoughts on my problem it would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Main Message Board / Rigging hardware on mast
May 03, 2021, 06:51:43 PM
Hi All,
I have owned and sailed my 1989 C34 tall rig now for 5 seasons sailing out of Erie, PA.  I want to expand my sailing experience by using a whisker pole on the head sail and flying a spinnaker.  My question is what is the most popular hardware that is mounted on the mast to connect the poles to.

If you have any pictures to share with me, that would be helpful.

Thank you,
Paul & Judy

Main Message Board / Nut size
April 16, 2021, 05:09:56 PM
Hi All,

Does anyone know the size of the nuts on the keel studs?  I read somewhere that it's a good idea to check that they are still torqued up to specs while still on the 'hard'.

Thanks,
Paul & Judy

Hi LOGO,
I guess I missed your post from last October.  You mentioned that you might have parts for the 915.  What I need is the top bearing which is located inside the top most foil.
I will buy it from you.  I live in the Pittsburgh area.  If you are within a 3 hour driving distance, I can come and get it.  Mailing the part would be easy as well.

Thanks to All for the help and advice.  I got my furler down.  I am having trouble getting parts for my 915.  The top bearing and rivets.  I have got some parts thru Hood, but I think they are having supplier troubles.  I know the material of the top bearing, so with a lathe, I'll just make my own.

Stay safe out there,

Hi All,  well, I figured out what engine I have the old fashion way.  V=pi x r2 x H.  In other words figuring out the volume of a cylinder.

So, I have a M 25XP.

Thanks to all for the helpful input.

Pictures?   I can determine from a set/ different angles/locations.

It would sure help if you provided basic info!  Year?

The model number tag is stuck onto the top of the exhaust manifold (if it hasn't fallen off.)

Just an M 25 or a M 25XP.

.....................

Two easy ones:

1.  Size of HX  2" is an M25, 3" is an XP unless your PO changed an M25 HX to a 3" like many of us have

2.  Alternator bracket - if silver most likely upgraded on an M25, engine color most likely XP (unless an M25 PO painted the upgraded bracket)

What does HX and PO stand for?

Lake Michigan / Re: Great Lakes Roll Call
October 28, 2020, 07:36:13 PM
Hi, I've just finished my 4th year owning a 34 Catalina tall rig.  I'm homeported in Erie, PA.  During the summer of '18 I sailed out of Erie, up Huron to Mackinaw Island.  Then over to the North Channel to Georgian Bay.  Then back home.
I hope to sail over to Lake Michigan next year.  Currently, my boat is up on the hard.
Have a good winter and stay safe.

My boat is 1989, 34, tall rig, so I am assuming the motor is original.
If I can figure out how to attach photos, I will.
Thanks so far.

Hi All,

I am hoping that someone might be able to help me identify which model of engine I have.  Just an M 25 or a M 25XP.

Are there number on the block somewhere?

I have taken the engine out for rebuilding over the winter.  So, I have to figure out which gasket kit I need to order, etc.

Stay safe out there.

Hi all,
Does anyone know where I can get info on how to remove my Hood Seafurl?  Mine is damaged up top.  I need to bring it down to see if I can affect repairs.
I tried to Google it.  No luck.
Thanks in advance.

All the Best

Warning to All, do not do business with acobaa shop.  The are not reputable.  I ordered an item from them and they sent the wrong product.  They won't respond to resolve the issue.  I have reported them to PayPal.

All the Best,

Paul
