I cannot believe I did not take a picture..the boat is a 98 mkii

After running the engine for 2 hours (not running hot or rough), I noticed white, salty looking or calcium deposits on the front of the engine( the door under the steps) while I was doing the final clean before leaving her at the dock.  Any suggestions as to what the culprit could be? There was no water in the bilge and the rest of the engine looked fine( I looked from the aft cabin as well)

Has anyone cleaned their heat exchanger?  If so, how often do you need to clean it?

Need to replace our bilge pump and float switch again (replaced within the last year).  Pump runs so so with lots of back flow and switch died.  Recommendations?

We have a 1998 Catalina MK II. The last 2 times we have run her engine for more than an hour, the water gets too hot(engine temp is normal),almost boiling and sets off the pressure valve. We have flushed the hot water tank and run the engine previously without the pressure valve releasing.  Thoughts?

Thank you for all of the suggestions! I have contacted mastgate.  :-)  hopefully I won't be scrabbling on the deck to retrieve the mast stopper soon!!

The mast stopper that holds up the sail slides in our mast keeps coming out.  We have bought a new one and even tried loctight on it.  It comes out when we lower the main or reef our sail.  Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.  We have a 1998 34 mk

Thanks for the advice. I will mark it tomorrow.  The surveyor didn't find any Faults there, so hopefully it is just cosmetic.  :-))

While measuring for sound insulation, I noticed cracks in the fiberglass near where the motor mount hole are. The mounts are intact,secure and have no noticeable damage.
Any thoughts or suggestions? We puchased this 1998 mkii last November.

We seem to be experiencing the same problem with our 98 catalina 34.  Did you find a solution?
