Made it with help from workers from Marina. Did not make into the slip we wanted to do to wind but got it tied up.

Friday is the day. We are splashing our new to us boat. Yes I'm nervous.
Have spent all spring going over the critical updates list and hope I'm ready. Although not all updates are done and the boat needs a lot of work, hoping I have done enough for the trip to our home dock. Will take a few shake down runs and then hopefully move the boat 80 miles to our home port. Anyone want to see a nervous man hit every boat in the marina trying to dock feel free to come down for a laugh.

Have not thought of cutting the center bar out, but will hold off on that. We just bought the boat and have not sailed it yet.
Hope to put it in the water July 1.

Mine is cracked on the starboard side so have to get it off. dash panel is off for the wiring repair and port side is no problem.
Removed the rear bulkhead in front of the water tank hoping there was enough room but no luck. So looking at how the hanging locker is installed and that it serves no
structural purpose thinking an access panel in the rear of it should work fine. This should give me greater access to the water fill hose and the refrigerator condenser for cleaning.
thanks

They are bolted underneath the problem is you can't see them and get an arm in there. And if you get them out forget about starting them when you go to put back.
They have to come off to weld, broken at base.

Has anybody removed the stern pulpit on a mk1. Wondering how to gain access to the bolts?  Aft lazarette is out as to much mounted in there and even if you could get in and reach you can't reach the screws on the outside. Thinking of installing an inspection port in the rear hanging locker.

Mr Jackson has it right, noticed soot around intake to muffler. The intake was crushed from trying to tighten the hose.
Thought about repairing it but went with a new one as i have a lot to do to get ready to move the boat.
The critical upgrade list and tech articles has been a huge help in getting the boat ready.
Thank you to all who went before me and shared the knowledge here a great resource.

Should have clarified the exhaust is all new, hoses, pipe, muffler. Was just wondering what you would use to re-tab the muffler support back to the hull. They had it glassed in but glass was slooped on to muffler causing a pain to get muffler out the wooden support came loose from hull.

Hi new here but have been reading and following for a while. Purchased a 1988 Catalina 34 last fall. The boat had been sitting on the hard for the last three years due to the unfortunate death of the owner. We love the boat, even the wife said it was prefect with three years worth of dirt and mold. We have to move the boat in the spring and I have been going down the list of critical upgrades and I am replacing the muffler and hump hose. When the muffler finally popped free the base was loose from the hull. Cleaned and sealed the base with west system.  So now the question I have is 5200 better than west with some filler to bond it back down to the hull? More questions to follow I'm sure.
