thanks Noah, et al.  Do I hand sand, with a block, or can I use a random orbital sander?  thanks

that is how they look.  i will try spraying with bleach and water, drying in the sun and then sanding, sealing all sides.  and no heat gun!

my floor boards are in bad shape and i took them off the boat.  can I sand them to get out these weird black footprints (PO somehow did that) as well as other nastiess and then revarnished.  on the advice of someone, i bought Rustoleum Spar vanish, only to read the can just now to read that it was exterior only (opps).  also, there is black mold on the bottom of the board that was by the head, what do i use, besides just sanding, to kill that off and is there any reason not to put the polyurathane on the underside of the boards as well?

i read http://c34.org/bbs/index.php/topic,7280.0.html and the faq and I have rebed all my beckson ports but as everyone here knows, even if they don't leak (and mine don't now), because of the angle they are installed in, when you open the ports, water comes in.  Has anyone seen covers for these, that would snap on from the outside?  Beckson does not sell anything like that.

thanks in advance

omg, I really thought my captain made up the "only canadians keep fenders on while sailing" story.  wow.

what do people use to install shock cords, or anything else, in the aft lazerette?  i'd like to hang my fenders there, when sailing.

thanks

so for a Michigan winter, is -60 for engine good enough?  if not, I'll get the -100.

uh, no idea.  i just ran it for 15, stopped, ran again for 15, etc...  wasn't a big deal.  next year, i'm filling the tanks once, with water and bleach, draining, then only filling the smaller one.  no reason to fill both if i don't do overnights

really?  i thought you had to worry about it!
