Fleet 1 / Re: Ignition Key breakoff
October 24, 2009, 10:53:44 AM
Since the key system on a C34 only protects one from honest people, I would suggest replacing the key with:

1.  On/off switch for the ignition - turn on the engine and enables the glow plug switch

2.  Push button - only on when pushed - for the glow plugs

If one is concerned about protection, the on/off switch (#1) could be placed below deck.

just my 2 cents,  Ray

Which Marina do you have your boat in?  Divers usually only cover a few marinas.  Use a guy who does a number of boat in your marina.

I took mine out to clean out the heat exchanger 2 years or so ago. I found that after taking out all the screws (they were all on the inside) some of the pieces were glued together and to the boat.  When I put it back together, I put a door in the starboard side to make changing the heat exchanger zinc easier and put the screws in from the outside.

Join the Catalina 34 Fleet 1 to the Coyote Point Yacht Club for our last scheduled cruise of 2009!

CPYC is located on the grounds of Coyote Point Recreation Area. Coyote Point is a peninsula located on the west side of San Francisco Bay, just south of the San Francisco Airport. There is an 18 hole golf course, a world class environmental museum and a beautiful county park within walking distance from the marina.
Friday night the club house is open for dinner.

On Saturday we will have a social hour on the dock at around 1700 followed by a group barbeque.

RSVP to Scott Lee leescott@sbcglobal.net .

Sexscript, Painkiller, and Crew's Nest enjoyed a great weekend.  All arrived on Friday afternoon after motoring down the South Bay - no wind but warm weather.  Saturday was spent exploring the area, doing boat projects, reading and sleeping in the warm sunshine.

We thank CPYC and Torin Knorr for their hospitality and a great streak dinner on Saturday evening.

We also thank Scott and Sharon Lee for organizing the Fleet 1 Cruising Program in 2009.  If you have an ideas for 2010, be free to let us know
