Let me know what you think.  I have a set but would like to hear your evaluation.

I would be interested in the Dacron set.  I have a 1990 std rig with an original main and a poorly fitting replacement genoa.  Any idea what the shipping would be to Austin TX?  Who made the Dacon set?  Might also be interested in the bowsprit. Pictures?

Thanks,

Rick

I have to agree with Ken.  Have davits and love them.  Great place for my solar panel and GPS antenna.  Nice to have the dinghy ready but out of the way.

Cheers,

Rick

Steve, I added one to my 1984 Catalina 30.  Fit and finish was good (not perfect but good) and I was very happy with the results.

Just my 2 cents.

Copy of a message from Peggy Hall:

If it's a plastic tank, you can buy an identical replacement from Ronco Plastics.

http://www.ronco-plastics.net/marinetanks.html

Ronco has supplied all the water and waste tanks for Catalina for several decades.  Give 'em the boat year and model and which tank, they should know which is the right one. Buy direct and save the markup Catalina puts on it.

Btw...they show 400+ tanks in their catalog, but any that are still OEM proprietary won't be there. So depending on the age of your boat, it may or may not be in the catalog. However, that doesn't mean they don't still have the mold and know which one you need.

I've not tried it, but know several people at my marina who have had good luck with Kiwigrip.  I watched one of the boat owners applying the product and decided when the time comes I'd give it a try.  I believe Practical Sailor thought well of the product.

I second that!  I've also had really great luck on a number of items.  I used to live in SoCal and made monthly trips to see what new treasures I could find.  Now that I'm in Texas it's a little more frustrating but just ordered a 110% headsail and I was very happy with both the sail and the price.

Yes, I have bought the black plastic replacements at West Marine and they were exactly the same.  The brass ones are slightly different and will take a bit of work to fit.

It's an old picture but I went with two 40watt panels on the DIY hard dodger and a 100 watt panel on the davits.  This picture has the old "jungle gym" davits installed by the PO, but she now has a set of davits that look like Garhauer davits.  Much better and a secure place to mount the 100watt panel.

Hi Ken, I changed my vent line last year from the stanchion to a thru hull.

So where did you place the thru hull?

Thanks,

Rick

Have you seen this link?  I realize it's not a c34, but perhaps it would give you some ideas.

Please take lots of pictures and notes.  I'm interested in this project for my C34.

Cheers,

Rick
