Main Message Board / Sail number 534
June 23, 2019, 06:13:37 PM
Aloha,
I just bought a used main sail made for the C34 number 534 on the sail. Any way to find out what boat it came off of? Just curious.
And while i am on the subject...The hull number on my boat is illegible, can I find it elsewhere?
I would appreciate any help from anyone! Mahalo, Susan

Main Message Board / Teak Grate in Head
June 04, 2019, 03:38:02 PM
Aloha,
I recently notice hairline cracks in the head floor. They looked superficial but bothered me.
My Son suggested I install a teak grate to distribute the weight and hopefully no more cracks.
I got a shower grate from Amazon 31" by 19.6" and a great woodworking guy on my pier took a template and cut it to fit.
He used the cut pieces to reinforce the bottom as the cross pieces had tone cut also.
It arrived just oiled with non skid bumpers that were taken off.
It's very study feeling when walked on and looks great!

Aloha, I haven't been here in awhile so hope this is a new topic and I haven't missed someone else doing this last week!
It was an easy install and gave me lots of storage between the hull and liner to store bathroom stuff.
The frame came from Go2Marine...hope the pics come thru...enjoy :D

October 08, 2010, 04:08:06 PM
Hello all..The opening ports on the port side of my boat will no longer stay open when lifted...for some reason the starboard ones work fine. Has anyone had this problem and found out how to fix then to stay open? Thanks

Main Message Board / Hand rails in galley
February 25, 2009, 08:18:20 PM
I just installed inexpensive stainless hand rails by the sinks and on the cover to my 2-burner stovetop. They are through bolted to the teak trim. Good place to hang a towel or to hold on and.... I like their retro look.

Main Message Board / Refrigerator insulation
August 24, 2008, 04:37:17 PM
My Alder Barbour reefer system seems to be working fine but the freezer unit has a thick, icey frost layer build up within 2-3 days of defrost. I have sealed the lid and no cold escapes there and I try not to open more than 4 times a day, and quickly. Has anyone put more insulation behind and alongside the refrigerator? What did you use? Did it help? Any ideas? Thanks

Main Message Board / Maxwell Primary winch overhaul
January 18, 2008, 07:01:00 PM
Aloha...Does anyone have a schematic for a 26ST 2-Speed Maxwell winch circa 1987? If not, do you know if there are any 'tricks' to taking it apart?
Thanks, Susan

Morning. I have searched but can't find the article, with photos, showing mounting a 24" stainless hand hold on the outside of a dodger. They used stainless clamps on the inside and did not have to drill the dodger frame. Please help me locate the pictures as I am confused on the procedure for assembly. Thanks

Main Message Board / source for chainplate replacements
January 15, 2006, 03:12:03 PM
I am going to pull and check the chainplates on my 1987 as there is a small crack in one. They are not listed here under parts and I could find no reference in notes. Anyone know of a source for replacements or do I need to have them made? Thank you

Main Message Board / Stowing stern anchor in stern locker
November 29, 2005, 06:54:55 PM
Aloha. I  have a 25# Danforth with 200' of rode and some chain, in a plastic carton shoved into the starboard side of the stern locker. It is right now crimping a bilge hose. I just got my boat and would like ideas on securing all the rode and chain in the locker, but at the ready. Anchor I will mount on the stern pulpit. There is an autohelm on port to steering quadrant in center. Nothing else is in there, including anything to attach anything to! Please send me your solutions or ideas.
Mahalo, Susan
