I have read several posts that mention a cutless bearing removal tool that has been passed around from boat to boat. Does it still exist? I would love to borrow it.

Main Message Board / Round Cabinet/Drawer latch repair.
September 17, 2021, 01:16:55 PM
After agonizing over another broken cabinet latch on my MKII. (I have had at least 7 break in two years) I took matters into my own hands. I have a repair for those latches that will cost about $10 per versus $27 per from CD. Would anyone else be interested in repairing their latches versus new? The repair strengthens the point of failure. Let me know...I am going to have a batch of repair parts made.

Main Message Board / Whisker pole operation
November 18, 2020, 04:21:00 PM
Hello,
Trying to get up to speed on my new (to me) whisker pole. Do you deploy the whisker pole in front of or behind the forward shrouds. I've watched forespars video and I am a bit confused. Seems to me forward of the shroud would make for bad sail shape. Thanks.

Main Message Board / Universal M35B steam at 2500 rpm
October 01, 2019, 07:07:59 PM
My new to me 2003 MKII with an M35B blows steam at 2500 rpm. The temp gauge slowly rises to 190 degrees. The impeller was replaced and the HX were overhauled by reputable diesel repairman just prior to my purchase in June. I don't think the coolant system has any air in it because I see a rise in the coolant reservoir as the temp comes up.

I have checked my strainer, it is clear.

I have opened my seacock while the strainer was open...lots of water.

I am considering opening my HX to look for debris.

I am wondering if 2500 rpm is overloading this engine?

Any ideas? thanks

Main Message Board / Engine seacock hose size
August 26, 2019, 07:04:20 PM
Wondering what the hose size is for the seacock to strainer on a MKII? Forespar is assisting me with my leaking seacock handle. They requested the hose I.D. I am 2.5 hours from my boat. I searched the Catalina Owners manual, no luck. Thanks.

I need to replace one of my fixed portlights. I am hoping someone knows the material (plexiglass) thickness (1/4), and tint. The tints at the plastic shop where four digit numbers 2064 and 2074 I think. Thanks.
