Hello, I see there are a few threads on adding cheek blocks or foot blocks aft of the primary winches for the jib sheets.  I am preparing to add these on a 88 C34 Hull#694.  I believe this will provide a better angle for trimming in the jib.  I have a set of Scheafer 37-13 cheek blocks and a 37-13 foot block.   I can pick up another foot block if it is preferred.  I picked these up at a West Marine going out of business sale a few years ago.  Will be nice to finally use them,
Does anyone have pic on the placement of these blocks?  If anyone else has done similar are you happy with the upgrade?  From the threads this is a standard option on newer C34's?  Is a 1 inch off set block reasonable?   I have some teak or mahogany for a the off set.
  Any tips are helpful before I start drilling holes.

88 C34 we have no power at the the instituters.  These are the original which worked fine last season. The VHF and instruments are on the Nav/Com switch on the panel.  The radio works no power at the instruments.  Everything looks good.  Spent a few hours today working on this, not resolved.  Tips appreciated.

Has anyone ever seen a autohelm self destruct?  Ours did yesterday we were out just started sailing could not turn the wheel, looked down there was thin wire wrapped around the spindles of the wheel. The wire was coming out of the autohelm wheel.  After droping sails we used a pair of scissors to cut the wire away.  We decided to continue with a few hours of sailing after cutting the wire away.  The wheel lock does not work now.  Seems pointless to test the autohelm at this time.

Hello, I have a 88 C34 I just realized the boat does not have an outhaul car on the boom.   I will be going back to the boat this weekend to see if there is a track for a car or a car that would fit in the rope grove on the boom.  I had looked at this but am 6 months new to the boat so kind of looked and moved on.   All I have a cable with hook which comes out the end of the boom.   What do other late 80's C34 have for an outhaul car?   Sorry no pictures.  Seems there should be more there or is going to be.
