Main Message Board / PSS shaft seal

Hi I have a volvo penta shaft seal on my shaft and I need to change it. So I think to go with a PSS or other, do you have any recommendation for that and what brand do you have on your boat. I have a C34 1997 mk11 with a M35bc. Thank you.

Hi iím loocking for the detail construction plan of the hull of my 1997 mk11 I want to know the detail of the stringers and material used for and the location. I made a check on tech notes but donít find nothing. Thank you. Also the support motor what kind of wood is used.

Main Message Board / Gap between propeller and custlass bearing

Hi everybody, a couple of years ago I have installed a line cutter between my propeller and cutlass bearing. So the line cutter is very close of my cutlass bearing and I think is to close about 1/8. Since that time I hear a noise at different idle speed and I think because the line cutter is close there is restriction of water inside the cutlass but I'am not sure. For now I think if I install a flexing coupling between the transmission and my shaft I should have 1 inchs more. The flexing coupling would be a Isoflex. What do you think about my problem and about the Isoflex. Excuse my fault I'm learnig my English. Thank you very much. I know also that the gap between the propeller and the cutlass is supposed to be 1 time the diameter of the shaft but with the Isoflex it would be 2 inches.

Hi I'm loocking for picture or video for to fix my opening porthatch size 1 I want to change the lens and the gasket. I saw on Catalina direct the gasket and seem a little bit special and also there are two model of lens one is little bit thicker. Recommendation will be appreciate. Thank directly from Montreal.

Hi when I open my water heater with the 120 volts current there are some water comes from the safety valve. I check for a post about that but donít find. Maybe the water comes too hot or the safety valve is faulty? My tank is a seaward 6 gallons. Do you have an idea. Thank you.

Hi guys is there a chart for adjusting and check the rake of our mast. C34 standart rig. I see a possible adjustment on the forestay So on my boat I donít have a backstay adjuster and maybe I can give a better rake with the basic adjustment. Thank you

Hi all the members, I hope you had a nice holiday. On my transmission my mechnical man said that it would be prefer to rebuilt and change the friction discs and the two trust washer. So Westerbeke has the kit for 1000.00 canadian dollars and I check on Ebay and I can have the same kit for about half the price of westerbeke. My question : Is there any of you who has buy the aftermarket kit and how it fit. Thank you If there is one of you who has rebuilt his transmission I would like your impression Hurth hbw 100-2-r

Hello I need a new main sail and the same time I want an amelioration on the reefing system because it's never easy to take a reef with my originally system. My boat is a mk11 1997. Hello I saw in a topic about the pump (The water side seal on the pump consists of two ceramic discs pressing against each other.  One disc rotates with the impeller and shaft, while the other one is stationary.  The stationary disc is also spring loaded to keep pressure against the rotating disc to form the ďsealĒ, keeping the water inside the pump housing). I have removed my pump and turned the shaft by hand but the disc don't turn with the shaft, sometimes just the snap ring turns a little bit but not always. There is nothing for blocking the disc against the shaft. Do you have any idea about that? thank you.     Sherwood G908
