Catalina 34s for Sale / 1991 C34 For Sale - San Diego
January 23, 2015, 06:25:41 AM
Hello All -

The time has finally come for my boat and I to part.  Work has moved me to Washington DC and I couldn't bring her with me.  My broker hasn't been posting everywhere he should, so that is why I am posting vice him.  Anyway, I love her, I took care of her, but she has been sitting in SD without for about a year.  I am asking 32K...I want her to go to a good home.
I am not sure about the rules for posting links in this forum, so if you are interested in a C34 near San Diego, let me know and i will send you the yachtworld link.  Thanks everyone!

Main Message Board / Closet Idea
July 30, 2011, 04:54:57 PM
In case there are any live-aboards that sleep in the v-birth (like me) out there that have been looking for a nice way to store hang-up clothes.  I did this for about 25$ worth of parts, I really like how it turned out and it leaves the aft birth completely functional.  I layed down in the rack and the clothes didnt bother me the least bit.  Just an idea I thought I would share.

Main Message Board / VA to CA
May 13, 2011, 04:44:21 AM
Hey everyone, the Navy was nice enough to relocate me from VA to CA on about a months notice, which means me and CaliGal have a rough next couple of days.

Anyway, if you like anywhere between Virgina and California, and you see a C34 on the back of a semi going down the highway, try and snap a picture of her with your phone and post it on her.  I'm curious just how small the C34 world is.

Thanks everyone,

Main Message Board / Refrig Question
November 28, 2010, 01:59:06 PM
I have a quick question for everyone.  On my survey that I had done, they said that the refrig was mis-labeled on the circuit board.  Well I agree with him....when I flip the refrig switch, the auto-helm starts buzzing.  I know that probably needs to get looked at eventually, so I will get to it.....BUT for now, I need to turn my frig on.  I am trying to follow all the wires right now, but I don't really know what I am looking for.  Can anyone please tell me what I am looking for in order to turn this frig on?  Thanks ahead of time!

Main Message Board / Flushing the water system
November 26, 2010, 04:59:54 AM
Hello everyone! So I officially have had my C34 for 5 days now and it honestly is a blast.  I need to ask what y'all probably see as a simple question, but I don't know how to tackle it.  The water lines haven't been ran since the last owner (probably a year or so) and I would really like to flush them before I start showering and stuff....my question is, where does the grey water drain.  Does it go into the same tank as the toilet? If that is the case, then I probably won't be able to do it until I can get to a pump out station?  Silly question I know, but I am still very new with all of this.  Also, when I hook the water line up, I remember reading on here somewhere that there is a regulating value to keep it from over filling....is that correct?  My goal is to be able to have my first shower in my boat by the end of the weekend...please help me!!! Happy holidays to all!

Main Message Board / New About-to-Be Owner, Hello All!
September 18, 2010, 07:28:13 AM
Hello all -

First off, I would like to say that I have been reading this MB for about 1.5 months, and the amount of knowledge is unparalleled.  So thanks to everyone that contributes.

Secondly, I am about to close on my very own Catalina 34 next month.  I am in love with this boat, and I am super excited.  What I would like to know, is if there are any books that I could purchase that talk about this specific platform and the maintenance required to keep it up.

I will be using my boat as a live aboard.  I am in the Navy based out of Norfolk, VA and I am currently deployed to the Red Sea.  When I get back home mid-November, I am going to sail my boat from Annapolis, MD (where I am buying it) to Norfolk.  I went to a school in Annapolis that gave me a solid foundation on sailing, but it has been a while (couple years) since I have done it.  I know alot of you are reading this and thinking this guy isnt all there, and you may be right, but I thrive on adventure, and I am really looking forward to this...and I dont have much of a choice (limited amount of post-deployment leave to do it in).

What I am asking y'all is for any advice to make a successful voyage down.  I can navigate the water fine, I know rules of the road, I know the points of sail, I am just curious if anyone that has made the trip can give me info on what to expect, and how I should expect the boat to handle.

I will be in Annapolis with my boat for a few days in November before I head down, so if anyone in the area there would like to give me pointers, I would really appreciate it.  Whew, been away from the states for 5 months now, it feels good to look forward to something like this.

Thanks everyone for reading,
Jordan
