Thanks all!  I replaced the thermostat and the water got about 20 degrees warmer, but still not hot.  It gets down into the 30's at night and only 65-70 during the day right now in Arizona, so I guess as soon as I start to use it, more real cold water is entering the water heater and cools it down pretty fast? I'll bet when the temp heats up, the water will be much warmer.  It took about 25 minutes under load to hit 180.

Thanks all!!  I used transparency film and it worked like a charm.  I think using the different thicknesses of mylar film would be better as some spots needed a little more and some a little less.  In the spots that needed more, I just added another shim.

My engine reaches the 160 temp in less than 10 minutes of running, would it take much longer to get to 180?

I am in fresh water. I just do not seem to get much heat from my Seaward water heater.  I talked to them today and they recommended the 180 thermostat.  I sold my C-34 and now have a Capri 26, but this seems to be the best site for information as my M2-12 engine uses the same thermostat and the 25XP.  Seaward also asked me to insert a 6" clear hose in the return line to see if we are getting much flow??

Sorry, guy's, you have probably beat this to death but I cannot find it on the site.  Does anyone know the Universal and Kubota part numbers for a 180 thermostat for a 25xp?  I have found the 160, but no numbers on the 180 degree thermostat.

Thanks

I have a 87 and need to replace the vberth cushions.  All the cushion covers in the boat are in great shape, but I am going to need to start replacing the foam.  Has anyone just replaced the foam and do you remember where you got it and how much it was??

Thanks

Main Message Board / Standing rigging tension?

I bought a 1987 C-34 and in a good blow the leeward shrouds became quite loose.  I tightened each one about 1.5 turns and all is better.  How tight should the shrouds be?  Do you use a loos gauge and tighten to some specs?  What size are the shrouds?
