Best of luck to all our Texas friends. We in North Carolina know all too well what you are going through as you prep for the storm. Whatever you do, don't stay on board, there is nothing you can do once it hits. Be safe!

Sorry for your transmission cable issue. As to your aft cabin access issue, I too struggled with that d@^m board! By all means cut it where the cushions meet. That is exactly what I have done and it has greatly facilitated access. I can't believe I suffered with it for as long as I did before finally cutting it!!

Zippers would be nice, but I'm cheap! We simply loosen the "topping lift (it's not really a topping lift, as we have a solid boom vane that supports the boom) run the forward Dutchman line toward the mast and the aft line to the end of the boom. We've been doing it this way for 18 years and never had a chaffing problem nor any clanging against the mast.

Mas, check out Rigging Only. You can measure or send in your old lifelines. Very reasonable prices and very quick turn around. We went with bare stainless and couldn't be happier!

Plenty of room for the large bowl. A great luxury!

Replaced my nasty looking vinyl coated lifelines last fall. Rust was showing through in several places. Started to remove the vinyl covering, not an easy task. Ended up working with 'Rigging Only' to replace. They are top notch and easy to work with. Very good prices! You can measure or simple send them your current lines and they will make up a new set, which is what I did. Incredibly fast turn around. I went with uncoated, they look beautiful!

Randy,

See Roc's post directly above. Insert a thin blade between the plastic and the glass lens(front side of fixture)
With gentle pressure, the glass lens will come straight out---no twisting.

Hope this helps.

Randy,

Try the SCAD Sensibulbs.  Just remove your current Halogen bulb and plug in the sensibulb.
Very easy, with great, warm light.  Draws next to nothing in current. Only drawback for some is
the lack of a lens type cover.  Not cheap, but the electrical savings are amazing. You can buy them here
http://www.sailorssolutions.com/?page=ProductDetails&Item=SEN10W or sometimes Defender.

Have not ordered one yet, but considering this as a means to connect
my Matrix GX2100 to my Raymarine C80.

Has anyone done this?

Main Message Board / Main Sliding Hatch Replacement

Has anyone had to replace their main sliding hatch (old style smoked plexiglas)
on a MkII.  Did you replace with another plexiglas or change to the newer
fiberglass?  Where there any issues with installation? Thanks in advance.

Tony how about posting some of your M35 B photos on the board. It would be great to be able to see a 360 view.

Thanks Craig.  My apologies to all for not using the search feature
first!  Several threads deal with my exact question.

In an effort to improve downwind sailing performance I am looking to purchase
a whisker pole for my 135 ginney.  Any recommendations as to size(diameter/
lenght) or other characteristics to look for.  Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the tips.  Nylon with floats it is. :clap

Thanks all.  Is there any consensus regarding regular nylon line with floats vs.
floating line.  It seems nylon line would dampen the shock loads better but that the floats would be a pain.
