Don't worry about a bit of water coming down your mast... you have a bilge pump. A sponge gets the rest if it concerns you.
I think they are one of the best large volume coastal cruisers  around.

Same as us Downunder .... I just helped a mate bring his new to him '97 C34 mk2 down from Brisbane to Newcastle ... got bashed by Southerlies ... will complete the trip to Pittwater (14hrs) Monday (sunday night your time)
It does get chilly here in June/July August but nothing a good blanket won't fix

With the port trims ...
I priced the local plastics manufacturer and found it was a tad over the top to have them remoulded.
With todays technology 3D printing may be the way to go .... would be cheaper if someone did a big order and maybe sold for a profit.

(I have sold Moonshadow but helping  friend sail his down our east coast 500 n/mls)

Here is a pic of my solenoid. Your pic is definitely the underside of your foot switch.

Steve ...   Google it.

I know we can with our 2012 60's. Ours runs slower by a knot and a half or more.
Although we haven't bothered to as a gps is accurate for us.
We do have a measured nautical mile marked on the shore where we sail.
You need to time runs in both directions to work out actual speed over the distance.
I read it in our instruction manual.
Hope this helps though yours is an earlier model.

good luck

Main Message Board / Re: Inverter recommendation?
« on: May 17, 2014, 03:31:59 AM »
What ever you want to use , you need at least double the said wattage.
I would use a 1200 inverter minimum for your 600 watt microwave.
When an appliance starts, it needs a peak load(double), then backs off to the said load.

Could it be you are trying to raise the water too high with your 50ft of hose.
Just a thought

Main Message Board / Re: Davits
« on: January 29, 2014, 09:08:37 PM »

The longer the tow line the more trouble I believe one will have when towing.
If I do tow,(and inshore only) I pull the dink right up hard almost(ours is a soft bottom inflatable).
In reality it is easy to either pull up on the foredeck or deflate and stow.
Otherwise if you have bulging pockets then, by all means get some davits. Maybe the fold/swing in type when not in use.
cheers from down under in fabulous summertime. :thumb:

Main Message Board / Re: Seacock Strainers
« on: January 27, 2014, 12:29:11 PM »

I would follow Mainsails advice and NOT fit an external strainer as they will foul (unseen) with growth, paint or debris.
There is a link on this site for pics on his site as well as an explanation.
Just a Forspar or similar strainer internally is the way to go. Easy to clean and maintain whenever you are on your boat.

I would say at a guess they would be for Lazy Jacks for the main.

Either reinstall them (Lazy Jacks) or remove what you have just dangling as the paint will get damaged on your mast.

cheers from downunda

The only times I have been to the states was to surf in January (Ocean Beach SF and Santa Cruz Steamer Lane and Pleasure Point), and Poker in Vegas. Mmmm cold water and cards...
I will keep an eye out for an invite lol.
