Hi Everyone

Thanks for your input.  I'm not crazy about pulling the mast, but perhaps it  needs to be done...

It rains a lot in BC so I wasn't worried about a little water in the bilge.(2006 Mk !!)  But three inches in a week?  And then Scott told me his 2004 doesn't leak.  So I stuck the hose into the roller furling area, and almost instantly my wife shouted to turn the water off.  At the time I could see some water coming out  at the base of the mast, but lots of water was making it into the bilge.  As it turns out Scott doesn't have roller furling.
So what is the solution?  Or does everyone with roller furling have a waterfall into the bilge?

We purchased a new C34 MkII two years ago and love it.  Would have considered a used one but there were none in our area with a furling main, which I am so glad I held out for.
The V-berth is great with the opening ports and hatch...We found the C36 Vberth much less open.
Our last boat, a C30, was great as our 2 boys were growing up, but this boat has so much more useable space.  I think our upcoming Alaska trip (in a few years)will be quite comfortable.

I sailed from Victoria to SF. on a 36 foot Horizon (made in Mission), a narrow steel ketch.  We had no self steering gear except an electric one.  We certainly made some mistakes.  We froze to death, and became exhausted.  There were only 3 of us and my friend's wife got sick for 2 days and then couldn't steer at night.  I kept thinking it would have been a lot faster in my Catalina 30  BUT we would have been surfing by the time the waves got to 30 feet. 
My boat is over at Thunderbird in Fisherman's Cove--I could talk for hours on this subject.  By the way, my friends are now in the Florida intercoastal waterway after 5 years of cruising...

I have a 2006 with the 35 horse Universal, and am not worried about the impeller yet, but it looks very difficult to get at those bolts.  Why didn't they mount them forward facing?!  Has anyone put on Speedseal fasteners, and if so, are they easy to use?  Or are there any other alternatives?  I would hate to have to change this impeller in a two foot chop.  (My old C30 was so easy to replace.) Thanks.
