What about dropping some food coloring in one of the tanks?

You might look into getting some adhesive release too for cleanup after you remove it.

I rented a radiator pressure tester from a general large rental shop (many years ago).

Don't assume they're both the same length, measure both individually. One of mine was an inch different than the other.

Tom - On a boat of your vintage, CTY didn't install a separate breaker (from the panel) closer to the shore power receptacle as specified in in current ABYC standards.

RE: Starting with shore power on
You can send excessive voltage to the glow plugs with the shore power on. I managed to burn out a couple once.

I expoxied some small dowels in the original hole and redrilled without moving the engine. It was over 12 years ago, so I don't remember the whole project.

For your depth and speed, get at NMEA2000 tri-ducer that will interface with multiple manufacturers. There's another thread from just a short while ago that addressed wind indicators.

There can be a dead spot in the starter solenoid, I had one back in the day on my '63 Chevrolet. Very inconvenient when the ferry lands and you're ready to unload. I'd also look at the engine ground lug's connection to the wiring. If it's still original equipment, I'd suggest upgrading the factory 4 gauge to 2 gauge and solder the lugs if you can.

Take a ferry ride to Seattle and visit Fisheries Supply at the north end of Lake Union. They should have all the charts you need. I haven't stopped in there recently, but West Marine here in Anacortes should be stocked with them as well (if you're coming up Saratoga Passage on your way north).

Ken - Maybe he is talking about the copper compression washers between the injectors and the engine head?

An unrelated observation from your pictures. Your hoses are 23 years old. You should consider adding their replacement to your project list.

My 2 cents.....
