If this ever comes up again I was finally able to find an answer by talking to an old school engine mechanic. None of these parts come with holes - you have to install the bushing and then manually drill the hole when rebuilding the motor.

Thanks to a Kubota parts cross reference someone sent me I found out that the original Kubota PN for these is 15261-2135-0. I called a local dealer and he said these have been replaced with a new PN: 15261-2198-0

They are cheap so I ordered 3 new ones... hopefully the come with holes.  :nail

Hi All!

I've been on a 9 month saga trying to get my M25XP rebuilt after the crankshaft broke in half last December for unknown reasons.

Right now we're stuck with a parts problem. The pin bushings (where the pistons attach to the connecting rods) that came out of the motor have an oil hole in each one. You can clearly see the hole in the parts diagram here:
https://www.westerbeke.com/parts%20manual/200142_m25_m25xp_parts_list.pdf
The part is "Piston Pin Bushing" with part number 301154.
The bushings that came in my rebuild kit from ebay didn't have holes, so I found some genuine Universal 301154 parts... and those don't have the holes either, though there is a little bullseye pattern stamped into them that I'm wondering if I'm supposed to drill out or knock out somehow. I've attached a picture.

Has anyone here rebuilt an M25XP? Did you have this problem? Yesterday I found that the equivalent Kubota PN is 15261-2135-0 so I spent some time searching for those for sale, but the only thing I'm finding online is overseas. Maybe if I call a local Kubota dealer I can find them, but I've had a hard time getting any help from Kubota on this project.

Thanks!
Glen
