Thanks for the advice you guys. My Catalina 34 Mk II is a 1998 vintage. We're thinking of something functional to carry while harbour racing Fits 'easily' in anchor locker) and carrying an extra anchor for cruising. I've got 2 bow rollers which will help...

Need some advice about a new anchor to replace our Manson 30 lb plow anchor. This anchor and a 40 metre chain and 30 metre nylon line just fits in the forward anchor locker. What size anchor should we be considering? Also, what anchor have Cat 34 members found to be an easy fit in the anchor locker. We need an anchor for SE Australia. Sandy, sometimes muddy bottoms. Also for leaving the new anchor in the anchor well while we are club racing...

I need to replace the gear selector cable on my 1998 Mk II. The outer casing of the cable has split and the cable is rusting. The metal sleeve of the cable is swelling and making the gear selector difficult to shift.
Has anyone any information in regard to replacing the cable?

I'm sailing my Catalina in Sydney Harbour, Australia, and require a portable cabin heater for, at most, 3 months each winter.
I'm looking at what is available and have come across a Corona kerosene heater, maximum output 2.4kw. Has anyone any advice
re safety, stowage, alternative heater, etc.... I'd only be using the heater while at anchor or on a mooring. Looks like the Corona will
fit nicely on a plinth on the the floor of my forward cabin. Appreciate any advice.

Thanks for the info.... I'm getting a tank refill now, and am confident with the help of the forum I can monitor the usage going forward and avoid cold dinners!

I am a new C34 owner and also using an LPG gas stove for the first time. Can anyone advise me about how long I can expect the 3.7kg gas cylinder to last? I use one burner of the stove about 2-3 hours per month (24 to 36 hours per year) The Cylinder was last filled July 2016 just before I bought the boat.
