My Plan was to drill 1" pilots in 3/4" plywood - attach that jig to the outside toe rail with the original hole on the bottom of the hole in the jig and drill it that way. I have to go to the boat to measure exactly how wide the toe rail is - all 1" or 7/8" carbide hole saws may be too shallow to go trough in one step.

I think I found the right hole saw for this job - https://www.homedepot.com/p/DIABLO-1-in-Carbide-Hole-Saw-with-2-3-8-in-Cutting-Depth-DHS1000CT/301697676

Hi All,
Trying to follow up on old topic of Deck scupper enlargement: https://c34.org/bbs/index.php/topic,9525.15.html
My plan is to drill them to about 1" since they are constantly plugged by spider webs and other garbage.
Just wondering if I should use "normal" hole saw or diamond tipped, as it seems to be solid 2" of glass it that area.

Folks,
Thank you for all ideas. I took a top cap apart and cleaned the rubber valve. That did not fix the bubbling but made it worth.... next step to get new valve and see.

Cheers,

Steve,
This vent is between head pump and holding tank. I just want to make sure that there would not be a material hitting the fan if I unscrew the vent.

Main Message Board / bubbling on the top of vented loop
September 28, 2013, 01:08:09 PM
Folks,
I had noticed that every time the head is flushed there are bubbling on the vented loop in the hanging locker. Does that mean that line is obstructed or it is just a failure of a valve?

Cheers,

I became a huge fan of Fein MultiMaster Oscillating Multi-Tool (or cheaper varieties - Bosch, Rockwell etc) for odd jobs like that. It takes a zero clearance to cut and can be very use full when fighting things like 3M 5200 and 4200  (in scraper mode)

claygr,
Do you have an air gap between plywood and tank? I am leaning towards cutting a strip in plywood to allow enough access to the tank, but if it can shoot trough plywood - it makes installation so much easier.
I am also a bit torn between going with Solo monitor or to bite the bullet   and go with 8 tank solution to monitor both water tanks as well.

Main Message Board / Placement of holding tank sensor

Folks,
I am planning to install Ferrillosales sensor on my holding tank in '88 hull #531 and it looks like that easiest place is the aft side of the tank. However there is a plywood partition that is holding the tank. Should I cut the 4" strip in the plywood to get access to the side of the tank, or get the tank out and install the sensor?
Also while on holding tank subject: I had noticed that at times tank gets pressurized - and I had checked the vent house and it is not obstructed - could it be that tank is just too full (hence sensor installation)?

Cheers,

Simon
