I have had mine now going into it's fifth season with no problems, also using a xantrex 20 amp charger. Maybe this year, whether they need it or not, I think I will replace them just to be on the safe side since they aren't extremely costly.  For me, it has been a great value.

Ron and others
I hope you don't mind me requesting more information about anchoring. I have my boat located in the Midwest in Illinois and the lake bottom is primarily all mud. All of my years here and others sailors experiences in this area have been the use of the Danforth style anchors. These anchors are time tested and proven to work well in this area. Seems no one wants to buck tradition, so to speak. Purchasing a Bruce or Delta style anchor would be kind of out of the question since I have acquired quite an array of fluke style Danforth anchors in various weights over the years. The Danforth I presently use is the 35H weighing in at 35 lbs. The question is this. The CR-1 anchor roller advertisement in the Defender catalog states it will handle a fluke style up to 28 lbs. I would like to use this style bow roller because of it's narrow design obviously. Due to the extra weight placed on the roller, do you think it will be a factor in it's application? Or, do you think there is room for the roller model number CRM-1 item number 000968 in Defender catalog? All is not lost though, since I do own a 20H anchor from Danforth also. This would satisfy the weight limit for the CR-1, but for peace of mind at night I would like to use the heavier of the two. Thanks again everyone for any help   Jim Moore   1jhmoore@charter.net

Ron---Could you please send me the picture group of the anchor well/bow roller arrangement you have.  I was always hesitant about mounting an anchor up front because of the swing when raising.  From what I have been reading though, this is really a non issue.  Any  other valuable insights to this would be appreciated.  As always, thanks for your valuable input.  Jim Moore

Main Message Board / spreader width

Ron--Thank you for the help.  I too, thought that it was an odd request.  But, you never know someone elses reasoning.  Maybe, measure twice and cut once.  Once I spoke with him again, I understood that the measurement was needed so as not to have the spreaders interfere with the monofiliment lines. Thanks again Ron...................JIM

Main Message Board / spreader width
March 22, 2004, 07:49:58 PM
I am planing on sending in the new main I bought recently at the Chicago show to have a Dutchman Flaking System installed by Sailors Choice. One of the dimensions they need is the width of the spreaders. I have searched the archives with no results on this particular topic.  I have also looked through the owners manual with the same results---none.  Do any of the members have any idea what the overall width, from tip to tip might be?  Or, how about from the side of the mast to the tip?  Or, anything or any place I might go to find this answer.  Thanks all.

Lots of others have recommended to me the Vetus Bullflex #2.  That is the one I am going to order soon.

I also have the same problem.  It just started a couple weeks ago.  The threads seem to be stripped and cannot repair unless sent to a machine shop.  The table rocks back and forth making dining miserable.  I am going to look for some parts for the repair and if a solution is found, I will post the results.  Help from anyone will be appreciated.  Thanks

I read with interest the post about the Vetus Flex Coupling. I looked the Vetus coupling up at the go2marine.com web site. Is this the same coupling that they refer to as the Bullflex flex coupling? If it is, then they offer 3 different types that are available for the one inch prop shaft. Which is the preferred type for this particular instal? Also, if this is not the coupling you spoke of, where can I get more info on this? Thanks for any info you can provide.
