Main Message Board / Re: Inflatable repair in Annapolis
October 03, 2016, 05:33:00 PM
There is a place in Eastport used to be called Inflatable experts It is now called Maritimes solution.
I had a zodiac inflatable with high-pressure floor that detached it was years ago that they fixed it. did a pretty good job was quite expensive and they said the majority of the job is getting the old adhesive off .
You may want to consider the age of your dinghy on having them do the repair.

I have a question regarding  the wire diagram for Jim Moe's originally diagram. I have use this diagram and my boat looks exactly like it. My question is why was the Echo charger put on its own circuit I would think using the battery cables would keep the voltage hi and I would think that would be better than a 12 gauge wire running from the start battery to the house batteries. one of my concern is having 110 charger on the start battery and on the house batteries with the combiner connecting both circuits with the other method you have the disconnect on the the start battery keep the charger doing its job on the batteries its hooked to.
Am I missing something?

I have a square bucket that just fits in the hatch and it hangs on hooks with line that go over the lip.
I can remove it fast if I need to but the only time I take it out is I have to down in.
I keep horn, hand held vhf, chart (paper) and has more for stuff.
The bucket I think was a cat food container.
Can take pics. if needed

Thanks for the source on the screen.
And thank for the input about replacing the rigging.
I just covered the boat this passed week end so I have a couple months to plan what to do.

I was on a boat over the summer and saw a screen for the companionway hatch.
The screen was simply a very pliable fabric and around the edges there was a heavy line like material sewn  in .
To install it you just throw it over the hatch ! slider open or closed.
Don't remember the gentleman's name to contact him but his was a 36 and he said he bought the screen from Catalina direct   ,But they told me that they don,t  know about this type of screen.
Does any one know where to get them?
Also I was checking the site about rigging! (I am going to replace the standing rigging)
I saw the tuning sheet in project page and
I saw about sending catalina the old and they will make new in about a week!
But I did not see any suggestions on securing the mast while waiting?
I replaced the anchor light and install tack tick (wireless) wind transducer so i was not planing pulling the stick.
are there tech. notes on the job.

I did stumble across this solar unit, all pre-packaged for $50:
http://www.siliconsolar.com/Solar-Oxygenator-p-16155.html

Well, at $14 for the pump I posted, then the wiring, and having to buy a separate solar panel, then the setting everything up - I think this solution is better.
As for it not being as good as the AC, well who knows how much air it takes?  For $50 I think it a worthy experiment    In fact, I just ordered one.

I thought I saw on this message board a couple months back (but I can't find it) a kit that is a solar powered fan that blows air in to the holding tank.
keep the holding tank well oxygenated ! and less smell.
If any one knows of this kit please let me know what it is and where you can get them?
thanks
