I have my asym spinnakker for sale.  Let me know if you have any interest.  The sail is in like new condition used less than 10 times.  Sorry I don't have any pics right now.

The sail was made by UK Sailmakers in Marina Del Rey.  It is 1.5 oz material.  The colors are blue, green, and white.  they match my bootstripe  [ catalina original ].  I am including the sock, single sheet, turning block and line to adjust the height and position of the tack,  and its control lines, and an Atn tacker to attach the tack to your furled headsail.

I would like to net  $1200 after shipping.  The new cost is about  $2800.

My previous boat was a 1984 Cat 30.  It was a great boat that I enjoyed for 10 years.  In 1998 I bought a 1996 Cat 34 Mk II and never looked back.  Everything below is larger and more spacious.  Great V berth and true aft cabin. More storage space, larger water tanks, etc.   Everything is larger to scale.  Great sailing boat, 4 cylinder Universal is very smooth running.  The large rudder makes the boat easy to handle in tight spaces, but the greatest improvement is the walk thru transom.

Loved your blog.  Sounds like you did a terrific job in your prep.  If you need any local knowledge in and around Marina Del Rey please email me as I am off work until 10/18.  I have sailed to Cabo 2 years ago and can offer some advice on Panama also.  I predict you will love your watermaker before Cabo.

I also have had a really great history dealing with Garhauer going back 15 years.  Be advised that Mark also makes a modified setup to use your hoist singlehanded from the dinghy.  It makes it possible to land your outboard on the dinghy transom with one hand and control the line with the other.  Also there are 2 or 3 options on the lifting arm length and you can order the pole precut to different lengths.

You guys might also want to checkout their neat pivoting cam cleat that slides on your outside track to run your furling line through.

When on a mooring I hang mine on the inside of the bow pulpit and add a small safety line.  I have seen quite a few using this method at Avalon and Two Harbors.
