I have been curious for some time now at how many of you out there have an HF radio installed on your
boat, whether it's a marine SSB or a amateur radio.  What model radio, what antenna setup do you use?

Phil:  I wish that the pricing around here was as good as you get.  It costs me $550 if I
have the mast pulled, stored and reset.
After seeing all the posts here about the cost & problems with covering the boat in
the winter I feel that I got a good deal on buying a used custom cover for $500.

Steve:   Very nice looking, clean bilge.  Wish mine was that clean & dry.

Kevin:  What are doing for a boat now that you sold #615??

Fred:
If you need a new hot water tank you may want to call Seward.  They supply the tanks and are
probably less $$ than your marina will charge.  Just a thought.

Failure NOT failer.

Paul:
Is your charger protected only by the 30amp main breaker??  A 30amp breaker is too large in my opinion for protection of the
charger and most other ac components on the boat. I replaced my old original ac/dc panel last year and it has breakers for
each circuit. Now I have a 15amp breaker for the charger as well as 15amp breaker for the ac outlets.  I feel much better
with this set up than with the old panel which only protected everything with the main breaker, except the water heater.
This could explain why the breaker didn't trip, the failer with your charger may not have drawn 30 or more amps.  Just
something to consider.

I put mine in the port drawer locker in the  bottom.  It is away from possible flooding in the bilge.  Has worked
perfectly since installing it in 2010.

Peggy & Bobg:
Does putting in an inspection port on the top of the holding tank create any possibilities of odor leaking out, or are the inspection
ports "odor proof" ?

Main Message Board / Re: Windlass Wiring

Mark:  Check your wiring carefully.  Maybe the 12ga. wire from the PO is correct and that wire is only the control wire for
a solenoid.  The solenoid would then handle the heavier load and would require heavier wiring to the windlass.
Just a thought, Larry

If I remember correctly, brass is not good around sea water.  Use bronze or stainless, not brass.
