Main Message Board / Instruments installation
April 25, 2005, 09:15:08 PM
Just ordered new instruments Simrad Cruise Pack for Eliosso.
Am thinking of different possibilities for the installation. Have 3 instruments to install.
Option 1) replace grab bar and install triple pod on higher 54" grab bar
Option 2) Install on a piece of teak just under the companionway step
Option 3) Install under the dodger above sliding hatch ( I like that one)   in a triple pod
Has anybody tried option 2 or 3 or any other configuration, would like pros and cons and any other brilliant ideas you might come up with

Main Message Board / Wiring in mast
February 08, 2005, 08:17:58 PM
I need to install a coax wire in my mast as well as the wind indicator cable . Any ideas as how to install these wires while the mast is stepped so that I don't get the noise from these wires hitting the mast.

Main Message Board / Instrument housing pod
January 16, 2005, 11:22:36 AM
I am in need of replacing my instruments. My choice are the Simrad IS12 instruments, combi (depth / speed) and a wind system.Similar in size as the Raymarine units. Will the new instruments fit the original housing pods or do I need  to get new rail mount swivel pods. I do not want  to have the instruments right in front of my face as do the new grab rail installed systems do. I find that they interfere with visibility in a seated position.

Here is a site where fellow boaters who were there tell us how it was while at anchor and were able to take some breathtaking pictures
