Looking at my new mainsheet there is a pic of a catalina 50 hull # 18. Never knew they made any 50s. Charlie
I too was surprised to see a C50. It appears to be a Catalina Morgan designed for the charter trade. I found a couple of links - some with contradictory information.

"BOB" has been sailing out of Alaska for many, many years. This is at least the third article about his travels in Mainsheet.
He recently posted on sbo.com about issues he's having with his chainplates, and I sent him a link to our discussions. A few of his seem to be embedded in fiberglass below the deck. Too bad.
He's a nice guy and has put many, many miles beneath his keel.
