Title: LINKLITE "GOTCHA" SYNDROME
Post by: canuck on May 28, 2012, 11:39:19 AM
Stu, I appreciated the extensive comments covering the above condition. I will reset the default parameters on my recently installed Linklite asap. I have 4 Trojans total 450 amps, one deep cycle starting battery, magnum 2000 charger/inverter with magnum remote control.

I have noticed a recent condition whereby the monitor is flashing "synchronization". I do a manual synchro and the message disappears only to reappear a few minutes later. It seems this has started since I turned on both my Nova Kool fridge and my stand alone Nova Kool freezer while being plugged into shore power.

Can I safely assume this is due to the "gotcha" phenomenon and will disappear once I reset the 15V and 1% parameters?

Thanks

IIRC, "synch" on a Link Lite means it thinks the bank is full (I haven't reread the directions today).

If so, your idea that changing the default parameters will "fix" that is pretty good.

What you might be experiencing is where the bank is actually full, your fridge kicks on, and the cycle starts all over again when the charger fills up the bank.

I'd reset the LinkLite completely, from like a cold start, which would include the parameter changes, and make sure your bank is full before you light it back up.
