I just replaced my opening ports with New Found Metal stainless steel ports. They cost $229. each

Or you can re build them and save money. Catalina Direct sells the various parts, dogs, gaskets, hinges, etc. (link below) I have several ports with hardened gaskets and chewed dogs that I plan to rebuild. It looks the PO took a pair of pliers to some of the dogs to get them to close.
