Title: Hurth reduction ratio
Post by: John Langford on February 16, 2006, 09:25:13 PM
I did a search (pace Stu) but can't find the reduction ratio for the Hurth gearbox on the Universal M35B. I think it is 1:79:1 Can anyone confirm that?

Sorry. I found it on another site. It is 1.79:1. I am buying a new Kiwi three blade feathering prop with "plastic" blades and I just wanted to be sure. Really excited by the prop which I saw at the Vancouver boat show. It only weighs about 8 pounds and is an amazing piece of technology. If you damage a blade, you just take it off and replace it ($100 per blade). Almost zero drag which should be quite a change in light airs after the 3 blade Michigan wheel. I will report back after it is installed.

John : You're correct on the ratio.  It's the HWB 100 - in case you need the correct name.   :(
