Title: GPS reads "No Data"
Post by: westcoaster1358 on February 08, 2006, 01:21:57 PM
my GPS just started to read "No Data", the wires seem to be connected, so what else should I check....    I get a loud beeping every 20 seconds or so.  Thanks.

What type of GPS?  If it's not a handheld check the antenna coax and anything blocking the antenna.  Check connectors at the back of the unit for corrision.  Is it a Raymarine?  Sometimes you can have trouble if you have powered on the GPS without the antenna connected.

My 2 cents,

Rick

Usually a reading such as "no data" is indicative of the antenna not fully connecting.  On my Garmin, after several years of connecting and disconnecting the antenna, the connection loosened.  After recrimping it now works fine.  Perhaps this is the same problem on your GPS?
