Title: Catalina rendezvous
Post by: Andrew Harvey on October 24, 2005, 08:47:41 AM
I am not sure if this is the right venue, but i am interested in organizing a Catalina rendezvous in Georgian  Bay in the summer of '06.
There are a number of new 34 owners on the Bay. All Catalina's would be welcome.
You should be able to access my email from my profile.

Contact Gene Regan, you've only need 3 boats and you can form you own Fleet.
It's easy to do and great to meet other owners of the same boat.  I started Flt 12 in the Chesapeake Bay over 16 years ago and we're still going strong.  Try it - you'll like it!!   :clap

Hi Ron and everyone else,
We are in the process of purchasing "Whisper", which is currently in Annapolis.  The survey is this coming Tuesday, Nov. 1 and we can't wait to climb all over the boat and learn about it.  We have a good surveyor lined up and we're hoping to learn as much as we can about the C-34.  Ron, you mentioned about Fleet 12 and I was wondering if there is a website for it.  There is a link however it does not work.

Mike : Our Fleet 12 web master moved to Florida, so we don't have one at the time.  If you are interested in Fleet 12 give me a call (540)891-5297.
We are having our semi annual fleet meeting this coming Saturday (5 Nov) in Solomon's Island - if you are interested.  Think there are 30 people so far.  :thumb:

Thanks for the invitation Ron but we will not be able to attend  :cry4`.  We're in the process of finalizing the boat purchase plus a bunch of other things to take care of.  Solomon's Island is a great place to go, we've been there several times by land.  One of these days (soon!!!) we'll be able to cruise there.  We'll pass the word when we find a home for Whisper and get settled in.  It's quite possible that we will go to BMC in Baltimore.  Have a good meeting  :D

Great idea! :clap Allow me a few suggestions. As you are aware, most sailors in the area aspire to holiday in the North Channel of Lake Huron. Along with sailors from Georgian Bay, the invitation might be extended to those from Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. A possible location from Gore Bay/Benjamin Is. on the west too Killarney/Collins Inlet/Bad River on the east might suffice. My first mate and I hope  to be in the western end sometime in July. An early announced date might inspire the inclined to incorporate this rendezvous into the plans.
